While I don’t generally make it to the theater that often I try my darndest, and this year was no exception. A lot of great films came out in 2015, and there’s a lot I still have to see (Oscar bait especially). In no particular order here are ten of my favorite films released this year.
Rambo is an enigmatic and interesting character whose origins are as much a part of his mythology as the bloodbath that he instigates in most of the Rambo films. Of course, what happens when the original actually has nothing to do with the rest of the films?
From the original inception of this franchise there has so-far been five films, the most recent of which, “Mission: Impossible: Rogue Nation,” has only just appeared in theatres. Since the release of the fourth film many have heralded it as the beginning of an era of change in the franchise, and that these films are good again.
What is disappointing about this is that there aren’t any films with females at the helm. We’ve had some great female supporting characters, and there have been recent announcements that new female heavy films will appear in the coming years, but we still don’t have a huge female driven film.
